pollutants tent to build up and cause negative effects, whereas good are movement, despite clearing away pollutants, may stir up another potential hazards-pollen.Pollen can be particularly troublesome for those prone to asthma and various allergies.

He was born as Stephen Robert Irwin in 1962 but people know he as The Crocodile Hunter or Steveo. His parents,Lyn and Bob Irwin, were animal naturalists. It's no suprise that he have loved animals all his life.Steveo was raised at the Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park. His daily duties included animal feeding and care.By the time Steveo was 9,his dad had taught he to jump in and catch crocodiles in the rivers in North Queensland.Together, this father-and-son team could boast that every crocodile at the Australia Zoo(numbering over 150)was either caught with their own hand and raised at the zoo.Steveo quickly established himself with the Queensland's government on the process of the country's Crocodile Relocation Program,in which the reptiles could be transferred and relocated to proper localties in the most absolute humane,non-tranquilizing manner. It's frequently implemented in his television show "Croc Files" (1999).In 1992,Steveo married fellow naturalist,Terri Baines. She joins Steveo in his adventures and efforts in almost episode of his show.On July 24 1998,their daughter,Binbi Sue Irwin was born.
On September 4, 2006, Steveo was working on a new program, filming at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Snorkeling near a stingray, he was pierced in the chest by its barb, which hit his heart. Steveo died of cardiac arrest shortly after being stung. Stunned by the news of his sudden death, people around the world mourned his passing. Many left flowers and notes at the Australia Zoo, which he and his wife ran, taking over for his parents. Others posted messages expressing their grief on the Web. Wildlife experts, such as Jack Hanna, noted that Steveo was a great conservationist.

I would like to share with you all about the "The 2008 Summer Olympic Games", officially known as the Games of the XXIX Olympiad is a Summer Olympics event, that will be held in Beijing, People's Republic of China from August 8 to August 24, 2008 and followed by the 2008 Summer Paralympics from September 6 to September 17. 10,500 athletes are expected to compete in 302 events in 28 sports, just one event more than was on the schedule of the 2004 games.[1] The 2008 Beijing Olympics will also mark the third time that Olympic events will have been held in the territories of two different National Olympic Committees: at the 2008 Olympics, equestrian events will be held in Hong Kong, which competes separately from mainland China.
The Olympic games were awarded to Beijing after an exhaustive ballot of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on July 13, 2001. The official logo of the games, titled "Dancing Beijing," features a stylized calligraphic character jīng (meaning capital), referencing the host city. The mascots of Beijing 2008 are the five Fuwa, each representing both a color of the Olympic rings and a symbol of Chinese culture. The Olympic slogan, One World, One Dream, calls upon the world to unite in the Olympic spirit. Several new NOCs have also been recognized by the IOC.
The Chinese government has promoted the games to highlight China's emergence on the world stage and has invested heavily in new facilities and transportation systems.[2][3] A total of 37 venues will be used to host the events including 12 newly constructed venues. Earlier in 2007, former IOC president Juan Antonio Samaranch had said that he believes that the Beijing games will be "the best in Olympic history.":-p

I want to share with you all about the effects of political corruption.First,we need to know the meaning of corruption.Corruption, when applied as a technical term, is a general concept describing any organized, interdependent system in which part of the system is either not performing duties it was originally intended to, or performing them in an improper way, to the detriment of the system's original purpose. Its original meaning has connotations of evil, malignance, sickness, and loss of innocence or purity.

One of the specific types of corruption is the political corruption, or the dysfunction of a political system or institution in which government officials, political officials or employees seek illegitimate personal gain through actions such as bribery, extortion, cronyism, nepotism, patronage, graft, and embezzlement. Political corruption is a specific form of rent seeking, where access to politics is organized with limited transparency, limited competition and directed towards promoting narrow interests.

Effect:
(1)Effects on Politics,Administration and Institutions
-Corruption poses a serious development challenge. In the political realm, it undermines democracy and good governance by flouting or even subverting formal processes. Corruption in elections and in legislative bodies reduces accountability and distorts representation in policymaking; corruption in the judiciary compromises the rule of law; and corruption in public administration results in the unfair provision of services. More generally, corruption erodes the institutional capacity of government as procedures are disregarded, resources are siphoned off, and public offices are bought and sold. At the same time, corruption undermines the legitimacy of government and such democratic values as trust and tolerance.
(2)Environmental and Social Effects
-Corruption facilitates environmental destruction. Although even the corrupt countries may formally have legislation to protect the environment, it cannot be enforced if the officials can be easily bribed. The same applies to social rights such as worker protection, unionization and prevention of child labor. Violation of these laws and rights enables corrupt countries to gain an illegitimate economic advantage in the international market.:-p

i've read a novel written by sydney sheldon entitled 'the sands of time'.sheldon is one of the famous author in the world and his writings are very interesting.
reading novel is my interest, especially english novel. here, i would like to persuade all of you to read english stories more because we could get so many information about culture and life of other countries which we never know before.
for example, the novel i read tells me about the life of nuns in convent. after i read that, now i know that the nuns give their lives up to their god so that they could be with their god in the world afterlife. the way of life in convent is really different, with their strict regulations and rules. for example, the nuns are not allowed to talk to each other. they are also barred from watching each other. the life in convent is very quiet and they communicate using signs they make by moving their hands.
the other novels written by the same author i've read are 'if tomorrow comes','rage of angels','master of the games',and some more.i don't really like to read malay novel because, yeah you know malay stories often tell you about love, romance, and the plot of the stories are about the same, which are different from english stories.
for me,reading english stories could increase your grammar and vocabulary as well as giving a lot of information to you.

Does Love Need A Reason??
Definitely NOT!!!
Once a lady when having a conversation with her lover, asked:
Lady : Why do you like me..? Why do you love me?
Man : I can't tell the reason.. but I really like you..
Lady : You can't even tell me the reason.. how can you say you like me?
How can you say you love me?
Man : I really don't know the reason, but I can prove that I love you.
Lady : Proof? No! I want you to tell me the reason. My friend's boyfriend
can tell her why he loves her but not you!
Man : Ok..ok!!! Emmmmm..
because you are beautiful,
because your voice is sweet,
because you are caring,
because you are loving,
because you are thoughtful,
because of your smile,
because of your every movements.
The lady felt very satisfied with the man's answer..
Unfortunately, a few days later, the Lady met with an accident and went in
comma.
The Guy then placed a
letter by her side, and here is the content:
"Darling,
Because of your sweet voice that I love you..
Now can you talk? No! Therefore I cannot love you.
Because of your care and concern that I like you..
Now that you cannot show them, therefore I cannot love you.
Because of your smile,
because of your every movements that I love you..
Now can you smile? Now can you move?
No, therefore I cannot love you..
If love needs a reason, like now,
There is no reason for me to love you anymore.
Does love need a reason? NO!
Therefore, I still love you..."

Firstly, I would like to share a famous person. He was born as Albert Einstein at Ulm, in Wuttemberg, Germany, in March 14, 1879. He went to school at the Luitpold Gymnasium, in Munich. In 1896 he entered the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School in Zurich to be trained as a teacher in physics and mathmetics. In 1901, the year he gained his diploma, he acquired Swiss citizenship and, as he was unable to find a teaching post, he accepted a position as technical assistant in the Swiss Patent Office. In 1905, he obtained his doctor's degree. After years of teaching in various established universities in Europe, he immigrated to America in 1933 for political reasons and war pressure. He took up the position of Professor of Theoretical Physics at Princeton and retired in 1945. It was within those years that he had invented the historical momentum of human race; the atomic bomb-a disastrous inventio that was used to destroy Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II. Much to his regret, his discovery had killed many lives and left the world to suffer.

A famous people that I very proud and admire to him..who is that person??ah ha! Let me share with you! He was born as STEVE JOBS in San Francisco, California, USA, planet Earth, February 24, 1955. He was given up for adoption after birth and raised by Paul and Clara Jobs in Silicon Valley. He've always been interested in electronics and gadgetry. As a high school student, heonce asked Willian Hewlett, co-founder and president of the Hewlett-Packard computer firm, for some parts he needed to complete a class project. Hewlett was impressed enough, he(hewlett) not only him those parts, he(hewlett) offered him a summer intership at Hewlett Packard. When he graduated from high school in 1972, he attended Reed College in Portland, Oregon. He was only there for two years before he dropped out, partly because he wanted to ease his family's financial burden and partly to find myself. He figured he'd go to India and study eastern spiritualism, but he didn't have enough money. So he went to work part-time for Atari Computers. In two years he was able to save money to go there. When he was there, he practiced meditation; he studied eastern culture and religion, and even shaved his head. But by the fall, he became ill with dysentery and was forced to return to the United States.
Then he lived in California and in 1975, he began assciating with a group of computer aficionados known as the Homebrew Computer Club. One member, a technical whiz name Steve Wosniak, whom he had first met at Hewlett-Parkard, was trying to build a small computer. He knew there was marketing potential of such a computer that in 1976 they formed their owm company. They were contented to sell circuit boards Wosniak designed until the computer prototype was complete. That same year, Wosniak succeeded in designing a small computer in his parents' garage, and that was the beginning of Apple Computers which revolutionized the computing industry and made Jobs a multimillionaire before he was 30 years old. He was forced out of the company in 1985 and started the NeXT Corporation, but returned to his old company in 1996 when Apple bought NeXT. Jobs soon became Apple's chief executive officer and sparked a resurgence in the company with products like the colorful iMac computer and the iPod music player. Jobs is also the CEO of Pixar, the animation company responsible for movies like Toy Story and Monsters, Inc. Pixar was purchased by the Walt Disney Company in 2006 for $7.4 billion in stock; the deal made Jobs the largest individual shareholder of Disney stock.

Do you like to eat 'KFC'? Well, here is the creator recipe of Kentucky Fried Chicken, the "finger lickin' good" meal which became a fast-food sensation in the 1960s, HARLAND SANDERS, that I want to share with you.

Harland David Sanders was born on a farm in Henryville, Indiana on September 9, 1890. He was already 40 years old when he began cooking chicken for customers at his service station in Corbin, Kentucky. According to his corporate biography, "Over the next nine years, he perfected his secret blend of 11 herbs and spices and the basic cooking technique that is still used today." Sanders became well-known in his home state, but it took another 20 years before he began franchising Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants around the country. By 1964, when he sold his stake in the company, the Colonel's chicken was being sold in the company's popular paper buckets at over 600 outlets nationwide. Sanders continued to appear as the company's spokesman for more than a decade: with his white suit, string tie and cane, he had the look of a courtly Southern gentleman. His autobiography, Life As I Have Known It Has Been Finger Lickin' Good, was published in 1974.
Sanders passed away at the age of 90 in Louisville, Kentucky, U.S., on December 16, 1980, of leukemia.

Ah ha! Do you still remember the popular basketball player, MICHEAL JORDAN?? I like his slam dunk! I would like to share his profil to you because I'm his fans! Haha!

Michael Jordan was born on February 17, 1963. He did not make the high school basketball team as a sophomore in his native Wilmington, North Carolina, but did make the team as a junior. After high school he accepted a basketball scholarship to the University of North Carolina where he played under head coach Dean Smith. In his first season at Carolina he became only the second Tarheel player to start every game as a freshman and was named Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Rookie of the Year (1982). In his freshman year he played on the ACC championship team and made the clutch jump shot that beat Georgetown University for the championship of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). He led the ACC in scoring as a sophomore in the 1982-1983 season and as a junior in the 1983-1984 season. The Sporting News named him college player of the year in 1983 and again in 1984. He left North Carolina after his junior year and was drafted by the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA) as the third overall pick of the 1984 draft, behind standouts Hakeem Olajuwon and Charles Barkley. Before joining the Bulls, Jordan was a member of the Summer 1984 United States Olympic basketball team that easily won the gold medal in Los Angeles, California.

Here, I want share with you about my idol, Kenneth Gorelick (June 5, 1956) better known by his stage name KENNY G, is an American saxophonist whose fourth album, Duotones, brought him "breakthrough success" in 1986. Kenny's main instrument is the soprano saxophone, but he also plays the alto and tenor saxophone and the flute on occasion.

Kenny was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and first came into contact with a saxophone when he heard someone performing with one on The Ed Sullivan Show. He learned how to play by practicing along with records (mostly of Grover Washington, Jr.), trying to emulate the sounds that he was hearing. At Franklin High School he failed to get into the jazz band when he applied, although was accepted the following year when he tried again. He also played for his high school golf team, a sport which he had loved ever since his older brother, Brian Gorelick, introduced it to him when he was ten years old.
Kenneth Gorelick began his career as a musician when he acquired his first professional job as saxophone soloist for Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra in 1976 at the age of 20, while studying for a major in accounting at the same time. After he graduated from the University of Washington he played with the funk band Cold, Bold & Together before becoming a credited member of The Jeff Lorber Fusion. He began his solo career after his period with Lorber.

In 1982 Kenny G signed with Arista Records as a solo artist, after being heard by the president of the label, at that time Clive Davis. He has released many solo albums and collaborated with various artists including Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Natalie Cole, Steve Miller (which marked the only time he appeared on a rock and roll album) and Aretha Franklin. Influenced by the likes of Grover Washington, Jr., his own albums are usually classified as smooth jazz.

He received success quite early on, with both G Force and Gravity, his second and third studio albums respectively, achieving platinum status in the United States. These sales were topped by his fourth studio album, Duotones, which shifted over five million copies in the U.S. alone. His fifth studio album, Breathless, became the number one best selling instrumental album ever, with over 15 million copies sold, of which 12 million were in the U.S. He broke another record when his first holiday album, Miracles, sold over 13 million copies, making it the most successful Christmas album to date.

Gorelick's 1999 single, “What A Wonderful World” stirred controversy among the jazz community regarding the overdubbing of Louis Armstrong's classic recording. A common criticism was that such a revered recording by a musician known especially for improvisation should not be altered. The "duet" was produced by David Foster who also recorded the Natalie Cole and Nat King Cole duet. Gorelick stated at the time,"...I didn't want to spoil the original. I said, 'Whatever we do, if we're not going to make it better, let's throw it away and we won't do it.' So (Foster) guaranteed that it would be better, and I hope that we did a good job on it." Some columnists countered the criticisms suggesting such a recording would bring classic jazz to a wider audience. Nevertheless, Kenny G fans considered the live performance of this duet with Armstrong on a video taped backdrop a "show stopper." Additionally, Gorelick has stated that all the proceeds from this single go to his Kenny G Miracles Foundation which "funnel(s) the money to charities to purchase musical instruments and to supplement funding for the arts in schools."

As of 2003, Kenny G was named the 25th-highest selling artist in America by the RIAA, with 48 million albums sold in the USA as of July 31, 2006. In 1994, Kenny G won the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition for Forever in Love.

i would like to recommend all of you to use proper english dictionary. i think now, we are not suitable to use bilanguage dictionary anymore. other than that, i recommend you to use dictionary with 'thesaurus'. this kind of dictionary will help you to use english words which are different but the meaning is still the same. for example, the word 'delay' can be substituted by the word 'procrastinate'.
this kind of dictionary will help you to improve your vocabulary. this is important because, now, most of the article or text we read, the words they use are not the simple one. we could face problems if we don't understand.

At here,i would like to introduce what is management.Simply speaking, management is what managers do.A better explanation is that management involves coordinating and overseeing the work activities of others so that their activities are completed efficiently and effectively. We already know that coordinating and overseeing the work of others is what distinguishes a managerial position from a nonmanagerial one. However, this does not mean that managers can do what they want anytime, anywhere,or in anyway.Instead, management involves ensuring that work activities are completed efficiently and effectively by the people responsible for doing them,or at least that's what managers aspire to do.

Hi!Is me again...today i will share a article with you all...It was about Malaysian culture...

1971 National Culture Policy
Culture of Malaysia is defined in the "1971 National Culture Policy" of Malaysia. It defines 3 principles as guidelines for 'national culture':
1.The national culture must be based on the indigenous Malay culture.
2.Suitable elements from the other cultures may be accepted as part of the national culture.
3.Islam is an important component in the molding of the national culture.

Orang Asli and indigenous peoples
The indigenous tribes are the oldest inhabitants of Malaysia. They account for about 5 percent of the total population, and represent a majority in East Malaysia of Sabah and Sarawak. In Sabah, the largest official ethnic group is Kadazan, thought many unofficially recognised subgroups exist. The same can be said of other ethnic groups, with as many as a hundred racial groups forming the state's population. However because many subgroups possess only minor differences, they are not always differentiated. In Sarawak, the dominant tribal groups are the Dayak, who typically live in longhouses if in the rural areas and are either Iban or Bidayuh

Malay
Malay are dfra's largest ethnic group, accounting for over half the population and the national language. By definition of the Malaysian constitution, all Malays are Muslims. Traditional Malay culture can still be found in the village. Malays in different areas of the country speak their own unique dialects that can sometimes be unintelligible to most of their fellow countrymen.

Chinese
The first Chinese to settle in the Straits Settlements, primarily in and around Malacca, gradually adopted elements of Malaysian culture and intermarried with the Malaysian community and with this, a new ethnic group called babas (male) and nyonyas (female) emerged. Babas and nyonyas as a group are known as Peranakan. They produced a synthetic set of practices, beliefs, and arts, combining Malay and Chinese traditions in such a way as to create a new culture.

The Chinese have been settling in Malaysia for many centuries, as seen in the emergence of the peranakan culture, but the exodus peaked during the nineteenth century through trading and tin-mining. When they first arrived, the Chinese often worked the most grueling jobs like tin mining and railway construction. Later, some of them owned businesses that become large conglomerates in today's Malaysia. Most Chinese are Tao Buddhist and retain strong ties to their ancestral homeland. They form the second largest ethnic group.

Indian
Indians had been visiting Malaysia for many centuries, but only settled during the nineteenth century. Most came from South India, fleeing a poor economy or by an organised emigration administrated by the British authorities. Arriving in Malaysia, many worked as rubber tappers, while others built the infrastructure or worked as administrators and small businessmen. The Indians form the third largest ethnic group of Malaysia.;->

ABOUT DRINKING WATER

The following will probably amaze and startle you...

One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost
100% of the dieters studied in a University study.

Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a
day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term
memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen.

Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon
cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

(No kidding, all of the above is true...)

Of course, too much water may have strange side effects.

All right! Now that we've all enjoyed our year end binges...time to buckle down to the harsh reality of life and TRY to live healthily!

7 don’ts after a meal

* Don't smoke- Experiment from experts proves that smoking a cigarette after meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes (chances of cancer is higher).

* Don't eat fruits immediately - Immediately eating fruits after meals will cause stomach to be bloated with air. Therefore take fruit 1-2 hr after meal or 1hr before.

* Don't drink tea - Because tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the Protein content in the food we consume to be hardened thus difficult to digest.

* Don't loosen your belt - Loosening the belt after a meal will easily cause the intestine to be twisted & blocked.

* Don't bathe - Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.

* Don't walk about - People always say that after a meal walk a hundred steps and you will live till 99. In actual fact this is not true. Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we intake.

* Don't sleep immediately - The food we intake will not be able to digest properly. Thus will lead to gastric & infection in our intestine.

hello...firstly i want to share with all of you about the faundation of knowledge.this book explain critically examines methods and methodological approaches associated with mainstream scholarship, both in the classical muslim and modern western scientific traditions.the author argues that western methods are helpful in analyzing social interaction, but they present muslim intellectuals with a serious problem, namely, that they do not recognize revelation as aproper source of scientific knowledge.classical muslim methods are,on the other hand, primarily concerned with understanding the Divine text, but show little interest in studying social actions which do not fit into the revealed norms.
given the difficulties outlined above, this study aspires to overcome the shortcomings of both classical muslim and modern western methods by forging asynthesis among the elements of both.

You're tired. You could put your head down on a desk right now and fall asleep immediately. You went to bed late last night, had trouble falling asleep and woke up too early. And let's not kid ourselves: Tonight will be the same unless ... well, read on. This is the classic not-so-shut-eye experience of many Americans who think they are sleep-deprived and possibly need pills or other treatment to fix their insomnia, teeth grinding, jet lag, restless or jerky legs, snoring, sleepwalking and so forth. Reality is quite different. For instance, insomnia is said to be the most common sleep disorder, but these dissatisfying sleep experiences only get in the way of daily activities for 10 percent of us, according to the National Institutes of Health. And in almost half of those cases, the real underlying problem is illness (often mental) or the effects of a substance, like coffee or medication. Here are five recent findings that might help you rest easier:

1. We sleep better than we think we do
For most of us, sleep deprivation is a myth. We're not zombies. The non-profit National Sleep Foundation (which takes money from the sleep-aid industry, including drug companies that make sleeping pills) says the average U.S. resident gets 7 hours a night and that's not enough, but a University of Maryland study earlier this year shows we typically get 8 hours and are doing fine. In fact, Americans get just as much sleep nowadays as they did 40 years ago, the study found.

2. We need less sleep as we age
We'll die without sleep. The details are sketchy, but research suggests it's a time when we restore vital biological processes and also sort and cement memories. Last year, the World Health Organization determined that nightshift work, which can lead to sleep troubles, is a probable human carcinogen. On the upside, the latest research suggests we need less of it as we get older.

3. You can sleep like a baby (or Thomas Edison)
Multiple, shorter sleep sessions nightly, rather than one long one, are an option. So-called polyphasic sleep is seen in babies, the elderly and other animals (and Thomas Edison reportedly slept this way). For the rest of us, it is more realistic and healthy to sleep at night as best we can and then take naps as needed. EEGs show that we are biphasic sleepers with two alertness dips - one at night time and one mid-day. So talk to HR about setting up a nap room, like they have for NASA's Phoenix mission team members.

4. Animals exhibit a range of sleep habits
The three-toed sloth sleeps 9.6 hours nightly. But newborn dolphins and killer whales can forgo sleeping for their entire first month. However, the latter extreme is not recommended for humans. We grow irritable and lose our ability to focus and make decisions after even one night of missed sleep, and that can lead to serious accidents driving and using other machinery.

5. Get used to being tired, hit the desk
The bottom line is that a good night's sleep is within the reach of most of us if we follow common-sense guidelines for sleep hygiene:
• Go to bed at the same time nightly.
• Set aside enough time to hit that golden 7 hours of sleep.
• Refrain from caffeine, heavy or spicy foods, and alcohol and other optional medications that might keep you awake, four to six hours before bed-time.
• Have a pre-sleep routine so you wind down before you hop in.
• Block out distracting lights and noises.
• Only engage in sleep and sex in bed (no TV-watching, reading or eating).
• Exercise regularly but not right before bed.

Mongolia, since prehistoric times, has been inhabited by nomads who, from time to time, formed great confederations that rose to prominence. The first of these, the Xiongnu, were brought together to form a confederation by Modu Shanyu in 209 BC. Soon they emerged as the greatest threat to the Qin Dynasty, forcing the latter to construct the Great Wall of China, itself being guarded by up to almost 300,000 soldiers during marshal Meng Tian's tenure, as a means of defense against the destructive Xiongnu raids. After the decline of the Xiongnu, the Rouran, a close relative of the Mongols, came to power before being defeated by the Göktürks, who then dominated Mongolia for centuries. During the seventh and eighth centuries, they were succeeded by Uyghurs and then by the Khitans and Jurchens. By the tenth century, the country was divided into numerous tribes linked through transient alliances and involved in the old patterns of internal strife.

Today I would like share with you all about topic pollution.
Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into an environment that cause instability, disorder, harm or discomfort to the physical systems or living organisms therein.Pollution can take the form of chemical substances, or energy, such as noise, heat, or light energy. Pollutants, the elements of pollution, can be foreign substances or energies, or naturally occurring; when naturally occurring, they are considered contaminants when they exceed natural levels. Pollution is often classed as point source or nonpoint source pollution.

Pollution control is a term used in environmental management. It means the control of emissions and effluents into air, water or soil. Without pollution control, the waste products from consumption, heating, agriculture, mining, manufacturing, transportation and other human activities, whether they accumulate or disperse, will degrade the environment. In the hierarchy of controls, pollution prevention and waste minimization are more desirable than pollution control.

DID YOU KNOW???
Meat eating is murder..to the environment, that is.It's sad that gonig green had to be hip before people cared but as the cliche goes, it's better late than never. Still, in our bid fight global warming, one major cause remains relatively unrecognised: our meat-guzzling diet. A United Nations report states that livestock production accounts for the prodution of 9% Carbon Dioxide, 37% Methane Gases and 65% Nitrogen Dioxide. All in all, livestock is responsible for more greenhouse gases than the automobile industry.. It also takes up 30% of rice-free, land-based parts of the world and one-third arable land is devoted to producing feed grain to sustain them. With meat production set to double by 2050, our unsustainable methods of consuming livestock are either going to leave parts of the world starving while the rest deal with obesity and other health issues, or leave our planet irreversibly ravaged. Both ways, we're screwed...

THE ISSUES..
1. Animal testing over 100 million animals are used globallyin scientific research via methods most would considerinhumane. They're confiened to small cages or chained and subjected to experiments such as food deprivation or being infected with disease. VISIT: WWW.STOPANIMALTESTS.ORG

2. Whaling more than 30,000 whales have been killed despite a global ban on commercial whalling since 1986. Harpoons using explosive grenades rarely kill the whales on first blast. They're hoisted up the side of the ship by the tail with their blowhole underwater, leaving them to drown. VISIT: WWW.STOPWHALING.ORG

3. Battery hens in a cage of about 45cm by 50cm, five chickens are kept inside and never allowed outside again till they're slaughtered. Bearing in mind that the average wingspan of a chicken is 76cm, you can imagine how restrictive movement is. VISIT: WWW.FACTORYFARMING.ORG.UK

4. Fur trade more than 50 million animals are killed each year for fur via methods such as anally electrocuting and getting skinned alive. VISIT: WWW.HSUS.ORG/FURFREE

China toxic milk powder kills 3, thousands sick
By Chris Buckley

BEIJING (Reuters) - China said on Wednesday a third infant had died after drinking contaminated milk and the number sick had leapt to many thousands, while an official said the health threat was concealed for at least a month.
A child receives a medical check for possible kidney stones at a hospital in Suining, Sichuan province September 17, 2008. China said on Wednesday a third infant had died after drinking contaminated milk and the number sick had leapt to many thousands, while an official said the health threat was concealed for at least a month. (REUTERS/Stringer)

The number of children ill after drinking powdered milk laced with the compound melamine had risen nearly five-fold to 6,244, and those with "acute kidney failure" had reached 158, Health Minister Chen Zhu told a news conference.

The escalating scandal triggered a recall of exports, sacking of officials, detention of a sacked company executive, and the launch of reforms for the entire dairy industry.

World War II

World War II, or the Second World War,[1] (often abbreviated WWII) was a global military conflict which involved a majority of the world's nations, including all of the great powers,[2] organized into two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis. The war involved the mobilization of over 100 million military personnel, making it the most widespread war in history. In a state of "total war", the major participants placed their complete economic, industrial, and scientific capabilities at the service of the war effort, erasing the distinction between civilian and military resources. Over 70 million people, the majority of them civilians, were killed, making it the deadliest conflict in human history.[3]

The starting date of the war is generally held to be September 1939 with the German invasion of Poland and subsequent declarations of war on Germany by the United Kingdom, France and the British Dominions.[4][5] However, as a result of other events, many belligerents entered the war before or after this date, during a period which spanned from 1937 to 1941. Amongst these main events are the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, the start of Operation Barbarossa and the attack on Pearl Harbor and British and Netherlands colonies in South East Asia.

The Soviet Union and the United States emerged from the war as the world's leading superpowers. This set the stage for the Cold War, which lasted for the next 45 years. The United Nations was formed in the hope of preventing another such conflict. The self determination spawned by the war accelerated decolonization movements in Asia and Africa, while Western Europe itself began moving toward integration.

Kerr’s castle
By LEONG SIOK HUI

A series of essays, the award-winning book Lost Japan draws on Alex Kerr’s three decades of living in Japan.

Lost Japan touches on subjects close to Kerr’s heart - Kabuki, calligraphy, collecting art and Japan’s cultural crisis. He laments the loss of traditions and culture in a country now glossed over by flashing neons, glittering steel and ugly concrete structures.Originally written in Japanese, the book was later translated into English by American Bodhi Fishman.

Read and think about it...
I love you not because of who you are,
but because of who I am when I‘m with you.

No man or woman is worth your tears,
and the one who is, won't make you cry.

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want to,
doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

The worst way to miss someone is
to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them.

Never frown, even when you are sad,
because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

Don't waste your time on a man/woman,
who isn't willing to waste their time on you.

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one,
so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.

There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is
keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

Make yourself a better person and know who you are
before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

White Rabbit candy test positive for melamine
By AUDREY EDWARDS

PETALING JAYA: Samples of White Rabbit Creamy Candy have been found to contain more than 50 times the permitted level of melamine.

Tests on Ego White Rabbit Creamy Candy samples showed that the content of melamine was 135 parts per million (ppm) compared with 2.5ppm, the level permitted by the Health Ministry.

Heath Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai has ordered outlets to remove the candy from their shelves and destroy all stocks.

Those found disobeying the directive can be prosecuted under the Food Act.

“The ministry has identified the product and company involved and has issued a directive to the state health departments to destroy the product,” he told reporters yesterday at the National Public Health Laboratory.

“They shouldn’t be selling it or giving it away for free. Consumers should also read food labels properly and call us if they have doubts.”

The public should also be on the alert when giving away food hampers or products from China, he said, adding that there were 64 products which have been tested and cleared by the ministry to date.

The latest 14 products to be cleared include Menthos Yogurt, Sam’s Real Scotch Milk Candy, Miow Miow Lobster Peanut Crisp, Crisp Lobster Peanut Crisp, Sanwa Strawberry, Double Lantern Peanut Cake, Daysun Rice Crisp Cheese and Tongxi Foods Chocolate Egg Rolls.

The others are Tongxi Foods Milk Chocolate Egg Roll, Hong Da Food Crisp Blue Berry Layer Biscuit, Lotte Koala Chocolate Snack, ZQ Chocolate Digest Biscuits, Frontier Chocolate Cream Centerfilled and Passion Frugurt Yogurt Style Snack.

He added that 775 product samples had been taken while 2,719 items were taken off the shelves.

On reports which appeared on the Health News and Earthtimes.org websites on Sept 26 that Pizza Hut Taiwan had found melamine at 70ppm in cheese packet made out of creamer and cheese powder, he said tests had found it to be free from the chemical.

The creamer for the cheese packet is supplied by a Malaysian company and it is also used to make products such as three-in-one instant coffee and cereal while the cheese powder is imported from New Zealand.

He said the ministry was also investigating the biscuit factories which were mentioned in media reports that Vietnam had found melamine in their products.

To expedite sample testing, the Chemistry Department, the National Public Health Laboratory, Universiti Malaya and the Doping Control Centre in Universiti Sains Malaysia have been roped in to help out.

Liow said that he hoped to have laboratories in Ipoh, Johor Baru and Kota Kinabalu to conduct testing.

He also said that the ministry would continue with its Level Four alert on fruits and vegetables from China.

Under Level Four, the products are allowed into the market but will be tested and rejected if they are found to contain melamine.

PLASTIC SCURGERY: BEAUTY OR BEAST by melissa Dittman

"Beauty, elegance and sexy".Three words that can describe a women..as we know cosmetic or plastic surgery is more synonym to women than men.women especialy youth will plan to undergo plastic surgery in order to change or improve their physical appearance..but why they must change? Physically attractive people often receive preferential treatment and are perceived by others as more sociable, dominant, mentally healthy and intelligent than less attractive people, according to research by psychologist Alan Feingold. So to become more popular, women will go for cosmetic surgery eventhough it has bad side effects.
Some studies have even gone as far as linking dissatisfaction with cosmetic surgery procedures to suicide. For example, in one study, the National Cancer Institute found in 2001 that women with breast implants were four times more likely to commit suicide than other plastic surgery patients of the same age as the women who underwent breast implants..in my opinion, i will never choose plastic surgery to bulid up my self confidence..we must be grateful of what we have..and changing what GOD's creation is sin.Just believe in ourselves..

What is friendship?'Friendship' is a term used to denote co-operative and supportive behavior between two or more beings. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, esteem, and affection and respect along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. Friends will welcome each other's company and exhibit loyalty towards each other, often to the point of altruism. Their tastes will usually be similar and may converge, and they will share enjoyable activities. They will also engage in mutually helping behavior, such as exchange of advice and the sharing of hardship. A friend is someone who may often demonstrate reciprocating and reflective behaviors. Yet for many, friendship is nothing more than the trust that someone or something will not harm them. Value that is found in friendships is often the result of a friend demonstrating the following on a consistent basis:

the tendency to desire what is best for the other,
sympathy and empathy,
honesty, perhaps in situations where it may be difficult for others to speak the truth, especially in terms of pointing out the perceived faults of one's counterpart
mutual understanding.

What you aren't told is that many of the plastics used are toxic and the chemicals used to create a plastic can leach out of the plastic and into the food / drink.
Think about it, how many times have you or a friend said "I don't like this, it taste like the plastic bottle ..... "
THAT'S BECAUSE YOU ARE TASTING THE PLASTIC
The WORST ONES are Nos: 3, 6, and 7 !!!
DO NOT USE THESE NUMBERS if stated at the bottom of the bottle) !!!

Health is equal to wealth

So, it is very important. It got too many things that are tasty but harmful in this world. We have be careful always when taking food to make sure our is healhty always.
The top five cancer-causing foods are:

1.Hot dog
Because they are high in nitrates, the Cancer Prevention Coalition advises that children eat no more than 12 hot dogs a month. If you can't live without hot dogs, buy those made without sodium nitrate.

2. Processed meats and bacon
Also high in the same sodium nitrates found in hot dogs, bacon, and other processed meats raise the risk of heart disease. The saturated fat in bacon also contributes to cancer.

3.Doughnuts
Doughnuts are cancer-causing double trouble. First, they are made with white flour, sugar, and hydrogenated oils, then fried at high temperatures. Doughnuts, says Adams , may be the worst food you can possibly eat to raise your risk of cancer.

4. French fries
Like doughnuts, French fries are made with hydrogenated oils and then fried at high temperatures. They also contain cancer- causing acryl amides which occur during the frying process. They should be called cancer fries, not French fries, said Adams .

5. Chips, crackers, and cookies
All are usually made with white flour and sugar. Even the ones whose labels claim to be free of trans-fats generally contain small amounts of trans-fats.

We should avoid to take this 5 food in ours daily life so that we can maintain our health always.

Dream… Just Follow It.

I agree with the statement. It is very easy to say: Follow our dream and take the risk. But, however, that is often neither possible nor desirable, especially when we meet the risk and challenge. But somebody will do anything to achieve their dream at the same they not fear to face the risk and challenge just because they need to achieve their dream. Look at Chef Wan, Anita Sarawak and many more personalities in Malaysia, they have one thing in common- they know what they want and they stay focused and spend their entire lives to achieve their goals.

I very agree with the statement above. No matter where we go, there we are, and our problem also are there with us. Actually we can run from the unpleasant realities of life until we spend all our time doing nothing but running. But to me better stop running and face the realities and move forward to plan and prepare for a better life or plan new strategy.

Blackberry lot being targeted
By NG SI HOOI, NG CHENG YEE and LISA GOH

KUALA LUMPUR: With less than 48 hours to go before MCA delegates cast their votes at the party elections this weekend, candidates are stepping up the direct campaigning with some help from technology.

Racing against time, most MCA contenders are furiously sending SMSes and making telephone calls to delegates. Personal cases are also being made to voters regarded as fence-sitters to win over their votes.

Division chairmen get extra attention from the candidates because they are seen as being able to influence votes from their area.

Bruas division chairman Ooi Jin Ting says the election candidates have been very friendly because he has 15 delegates in his team.

Hello... Good day to all...
Today I want to say something about "EXPERIENCE". For me I think experience is the most important thing. We should learn from experience, do not fear anything. realise that every relationship, situation and experience has its teaching value. in my opinion, we shuld not fear an experience just because we are uncertain or unsure with its outcome. The keyword is learning. Its does not matter that if people thinnk are failure if we learn from our experiences

School Jokes

by Irene Mielke

As an instructional assistant for a public school, part of my job involves teaching small groups of children. One day I was in charge of some second-graders, who were concentrating on their artwork. As I reached across to help a student, he remarked that something smelled good. I was pleased that he noticed my perfume, until he held a wide felt-tip pen up to his nose and said, "Yep. New markers."

Why Men and Women Laugh Out Loud

By Doug Colligan

he Neurological Funny Bone
It was somewhere in the middle of one of the Jackass movies—when a Jackassinine was climbing hand over hand on a rope strung across an alligator pit, a dead chicken hanging off his backside as hungry gators lunged—that I thought, It doesn’t get any funnier than this. Then I glanced over at my wife, who had an expression on her face that was more horrified than amused. She asked, “Why are you laughing?”

It was an excellent question, and one I couldn’t really answer. I knew her friends preferred the lovelorn characters in Nora Ephron’s romantic comedies or the gentle whimsy of radio humorist Garrison Keillor. But given a choice between watching an Ephron film with its sharp comic patter, or waiting to see what happens when some dude straps bottle rockets to his roller skates, I’ll watch the dude. And the truth is the only way I would listen to A Prairie Home Companion was if someone duct-taped me to a chair.

CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUP”

Title : The Gift

This story is about a bus that was bumping along a back road in the South. In one seat a wispy old man sat holding a bunch of fresh flowers. Across the aisle was a young girl whose eyes came back again and again to the man’s flowers. The time came for the old man to get off. Impulsively he thrust the flower into the girl’s lap. “I can see you love the flowers,” he explained, “and I think my wife would like for you to have them. I will tell her I gave them to you.” The girl accepted the flowers, then watched the old man get off the bus and walk through the gate of the small cemetery.

have you ever heard about 'worm fertiliser'?
Earthworms are very important to decomposition processes that occur naturally with dead organic matter. Without earthworms, it would take a long time for bacteria and fungi alone to convert this matter into usable plant nutrients.
Worm casting (a.k.a. vermicomposting) is the entire process of recreating natural worm decomposition in a streamlined form, producing nutrient-filled worm excrement (a.k.a. casts or vermicompost). Worm casts are several times richer in inorganic material, such as phosphates and nitrogen, than topsoil. Also, beneficial bacteria in the worm’s digestive tract, which enhance organic decomposition, have been found in much higher amounts in the ejected worm casts than in organic material that hasn’t been ingested. Since an earthworm can produce its own weight in casts within 24 hours, worm casts are one of the most efficient and nutritious fertilizers currently known.
Worm casting improves decomposition by creating the best suitable environment for worms and bacteria to break down organic material.

The latest dry-cleaning technology helps keep colours bright.

THERE is nothing dry about the dry-cleaning process. In fact, the term dry-cleaning is an oxymoron; the process involves soaking garments in perchloroethylene (or perc), a dry cleaning agent.

But what happens when your laundry is stained after dry-cleaning? Well, chances are your garments may have been washed in cleaning agent that was contaminated, explains Aaron Chen, 48, managing director of Pressto Asia Sdn Bhd.

assalamualaikum...everyone.... i just want to share about the real skinny on soft drinks...for your knowledge..sugary drinks lead to weight gain, but it's not just the empty kilojoules at fault, say scientists at the German Institute of Human Nutrition and other medical centres. it's the sugar. many soft drinks are sweetened with fructose, a sugar found naturally in many fruits. researchers, led by Hella Jurgens, fed mice either fructose-sweetened water, a soft drinks sweetened with sucrose(table sugar), a diet soft drink or water. Even though the mice that drank the fructose-sweetened water cut back on food, they gained the most weight-8 grams,or 21% of their weight, those in the other groups gained less than 5 grams.what gives??? fructose is converted to fatty acids in the liver at a greater rate than glucose,"say Jurgens. that may lead to weight gain.fructose is also disguised as high fructose corn syrup, read labels and keep your intake to a minimum.....

chocolate is the bitter and sweet..

1)Eat more,stay young..
the A-list of antioxidants now includes chocolate-up there with soya beans and green tea.anti-oxidants help protect the body from damage caused by pollution, pescides, smoking, stress and processed foods.

2)smile
guality chocolate makes you happy and not just because it tastes good.some scientists credit phenylethylamine, but others doubt this reaches the bloodstream.maybe thank caffeine and the chemical serotonin.

3)think again
chocolate is one of the causes of migraines.the underlying trigger varies, but research suggests many sufferers can blame the stimulants theobromine and caffeine in chocolate for their ordeal.

4)moderation
chocolate is energy-dense so you don't have to eat much of it before you exceed your body's needs.it's simple maths-if you consume more energy than your body uses.you will store the excess as fat.

5)smoothy
feeling stressed???serotonin can help. exercise ie one way to get it.another is to eat foods high in the amino acid tryptophan, which is converted in the body to serotonin-and chocolate is a good source of tryptophan

that's all...

'change the world challenge'
As citizens and future stewards of our planet, today’s students are in a unique position to become active agents of environmental change. The good news is that many of them are very interested in learning about and taking responsibility for their environment and their future.

Today’s young people will inherit a world that’s very different from the one their parents inherited. Climate change; polluted air, water and soil; endangered species; shrinking coastlines; and a rapidly increasing population are among the many issues that threaten our global environment.

"'Love means that you have a great bond with the person and are willing to do anything for him/her, and that you are emotionally attached and dont feel this way with anybody else'"
That love means that you trust the person, would do anything for the person, know that person is with you through thick and thin, isnt afraid to be seen with you. make sure they treat you right
The possible real meaning/purpose of love is: to reproduce. To stay together to protect each other long enough to continue your blood line/genetics. The meaning of love is prolonged mutual protection. Love is real when it is found. It is free when it is grasped.

Love is when you are certain that you love someone, and then you think you love someone else, then you both realize that you could never live without each other.

The true meaning of love is found in the word "unconditional". Loving someone through their flaws and all. Accepting and embracing each others differences and compromising with their offerings.

Love happens only once in a life....If you fell in love the second time then the first love you fell in was infact just an infactuation......Love happens when you realised that you are worth for the love you are being offered.....love is when you care for someone, when you feel something for him deep inside your heart and love is when you think you can do anything for him If you truely love him....Love is not just cutting your hand and washing blood all over your body, love is trusting the one you love......once the letter T is removed from the word Trust, it becomes Rust and it cannot be replaced the whole life......thus Love is only CARING AND TRUSTING the one you love.............

hello everyone..
i would to share about my reading entries. i have read this in CLEO magazine. this is about the women risking their lives to stop animal cruelty.a women strides up to the front door of designer Donna Karan's Manhattan home and knocks politely. thinking shes there for an appointment,Karan assistant motion for her to sit and wait. but when karan appears there the women shoves a mini dvd- playing graphic images of animals being slaughtered for their skin- in her face. that wasnt the first occasion karan had been accosted by someone from PETA( people for the ethical treatment of animal) but it was the first time it had happened in her own home. according to US gossip column page 6 the clearly shaken designer told the women :" i cant watch this now i have to be somewhere". Karan continued i have seen this video but for me its just purses and accessories.
despite tireless campaigning by organization like PETA and heightened public awareness, more than 200 million creates continue to be killed yearly for their skin. and the fur industry is only one of a number of trait practices that perform acts of crudely towards animal-whaling, animal testing, battery hens, and live animal export are still major problems.

Earrings are jewelry attached to the ear through a piercing in the earlobe or some other external part of the ear (except in the case of clip earrings, which clip onto the lobe). Earrings are worn by both sexes. In western cultures, earrings have traditionally been worn primarily by women, although in recent decades, ear piercing has also become popular among men in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Common locations for piercings, other than the earlobe, include the rook, tragus, and across the helix (see image at right)
.The simple term “ear piercing” usually refers to an earlobe piercing, whereas piercings in the upper part of the external ear are often referred to as “cartilage piercings.” Cartilage piercings are more complex to perform than earlobe piercings and take longer to heal.

Queen of the Pacific

Tahiti, the largest island throughout the country, towering over the ocean like a proud and royal Queen is appropriately crowned by a circle of majestic peaks.
The mountainous interior is adorned with deep valleys, clear streams, and high waterfalls, all bathed in green iridescence of Mother Nature's light. The coastal lands, edged with a rugged coastline, are home to fields of tropical flowers and most of the island's population.

Papeete, meaning the " water basket, " was once a gathering place where Tahitians came to fill their calabashes with fresh waters. Now the invigorating capital city and gateway of the country, boasts world-class resorts, spas, fine dining and unique restaurants, nightclubs, vibrant markets, pearl shops, and boutiques.

Polynesian songs and legends have bestowed this famous South Pacific island many names such as ' Great Tahiti of the Golden Haze,' ' Mounting Place of the Sun,' ' Land of the Double Rainbow,' and ' The Gathering Place.'
Legends describe Tahiti-Nui and Tahiti-Iti as a great fish that swam away fron the sacred waters of Havai'i, now known as the lagoon shared by Raiatea and Taha'a.

Culture
The Tahitians of the modern era maintain their heritage and traditions of their Maohi ancestors.

Oral history recounts the adventures of gods and warriors in colorful legends where javelin throwing was the sport of the gods, surf riding was favored by the kings, and Aito strongmen competed in outrigger canoe races and stone lifting as a show of pure strength.

Marae
The open-air sanctuaries called marae were once the center of power in ancient Polynesia. These large, stone structures, akin to temples, hosted the important events of the times including the worship of the gods, peace treaties, celebrations of war, and the launch of voyages to colonize distant lands.

Heiva i Tahiti
In celebration of ancient traditions and competitions, the annual Heiva festival has been the most important event in Tahiti for the past 122 years. For visitors, there is no better place in the world to be during July than surrounded by this pure display of Polynesian festivity. Tahitians gather in Papeete from many islands to display their crafts, compete in ancient sporting events, and recreate traditional and elaborate dance performances.

Tattoo
The word tattoo originated in Tahiti. The legend of Tohu, the god of tattoo, describes painting all the oceans’ fish in beautiful colors and patterns. In Polynesian culture, tattoos have long been considered signs of beauty, and in earlier times were ceremoniously applied when reaching adolescence.

Music and Dance
The beauty, drama, and power of today’s Tahitian dance testify to its resilience in Polynesian culture. In ancient times, dances were directly linked with all aspects of life. One would dance for joy, to welcome a visitor, to pray to a god, to challenge an enemy, and to seduce a mate. Dance is still accompanied by traditional musical instruments such as thunderous drums, conch shells, and harmonic nasal flutes. Modern Tahitian music is enjoyable as well, with a sound that often blends Polynesian rhythm and Western melody.

Handcrafts
The skills of the ancestors’ artistry are kept sacred and passed on by both the “mamas,” the guardians of tradition and the matriarchs of Tahitian society as well as by skilled craftsmen. Items include weaving, quilting, wooden sculptures and bowls, drums, tapa, carvings, and hand-dyed pareu.

Canoes
Centuries before the Europeans concluded that the earth was round, the great voyagers of Polynesia had already mastered the Pacific Ocean. Aboard massive, double-hulled outrigger canoes called tipairua, they navigated by stars and winds. Today, the canoe still plays a role in everyday Tahitian life and is honored in colorful races and festivals throughout the islands.

Flowers
Tropical flowers seem to be everywhere on the islands, particularly in the hair of Tahitians. Hibiscus blossoms are worn behind the ear or braided with palm fronds into floral crowns. The Tiare Tahiti flower is used in leis for greeting arriving visitors and returning family. Tradition holds that, if taken, women and men wear a flower behind their left ear.

History
Around 4000 BC, a great migration began from Southeast Asia across open ocean to settle the Pacific Islands. Many researchers conclude that Tonga and Samoa were settled around 1300 BC and from here colonization voyages were launched to the Marquesas Islands in about 200 BC. Over the next several centuries, great migrations to colonize all the Tahitian islands and virtually the entire South Pacific took place.

This area of the Pacific ocean is now called the “Polynesian Triangle” and includes Hawaii to the north, Easter Island to the southeast, and New Zealand to the southwest. As a result of these migrations, the native Hawaiians and the Maoris of New Zealand all originate from common ancestors and speak a similar language collectively known as Maohi.

The era of European exploration began in the 1500s when “ships without outriggers” began to arrive. In 1521, Magellan spotted the atoll of Pukapuka in what is now the Tuamotu Atolls and, in 1595, the Spanish explorer Mendaña visited Fatu Hiva Island in the Marquesas. More than 170 years later, Captain Samuel Wallis and the H.M.S. Dolphin was the first to visit the island of Tahiti during his journey to discover terra australis incognita, a mythical landmass below the equator thought to balance the northern hemisphere. Wallis named the island of Tahiti “King George III Island” and claimed it for England. Soon after and unaware of Wallis’ arrival, French navigator Louis-Antoine de Bougainville, landed on the opposite side of Tahiti and claimed it for the King of France.

European fascination with the islands grew as news spread of both the mutiny of Capt. William Bligh’s crew aboard the H.M.S. Bounty and of tales of tropical beauty and the warm nature of the Tahitian people. Knowledge of Tahiti and the South Pacific continued to grow as Capt. James Cook brought back thousands of illustrations of Tahitian flora and fauna as well as the first map of the islands of the Pacific. In the 1800s, the arrival of whalers, British missionaries, and French military expeditions forever changed the way of life on Tahiti and created a French-British rivalry for control of the islands. The Pomare Dynasty ruled Tahiti until 1847 when Queen Pomare finally accepted French protection of the islands of Tahiti and Moorea.

In 1880, following the queen’s death, King Pomare V was persuaded to cede Tahiti and most of its dependencies to France. In 1957, all the islands of Tahiti were reconstituted as the overseas French territory called French Polynesia. Since 1984, a statue of autonomy was implemented and, in 1998, French Polynesia became an overseas country with greater self-governing powers through their own Assembly and President. With these powers, the country is now negotiating international agreements with foreign states in matters of commerce and investment.

This is a summary about article title “5 LOVE MISTAKES THAT SMART PEOPLE MAKE”. There are always mistakes when people having a relationship. The articles tell us about love’s mistakes that smart people always do in their relationship. You can take the tips to avoid the mistakes from happen and ruin your relationship. You must avoid from doing the mistakes to make your relationship last long and to make your relationship became so enjoyable. So here are 5 love’s mistakes that smart people always make.
a) Setting Up House Too Quickly
It’s quite common for couples to become very besotted, very quickly. The problems is, people have their loved-up glasses on and can’t make sensible decisions for the first 3 to 18 months of in most relationship. Couples always influenced by a need to hold onto that someone special when they first meet. They often see what they want to see and don’t make time for important conversations about what they really want. So what can you do? Just make a different commitment like holidaying together to test the waters first. Also, map out your future plans to make sure you are on the same page. The ingredients for a strong relationship are trust and congruence and these don’t develop overnight because these things take time.

b) Making Comparisons
Everyone’s relationship is different and making comparisons is pointless. Not only does it take the focus away from your own relationship but they are often wrong. Just because a couple look perfect doesn’t mean they still are behind closed doors. The binding glue of any relationship is friendship, interest, affection and enjoyment. You really have to focus on these four things if you are going to make your union work. You must talk to your partner about any concerns. Think positively and do things outside your comfort zone. Making comparisons and laying blame is just lazy.

c) Seeing Everything From Only One Side
Not listening to each other is a huge problem for many couples. They are so busy defending their point of view that they forget to resolve the issue at hand. Writing your thoughts in a letter, talking through problems and staying good-humoured is the key to having an equal relationship. You don’t make mountains out of small issues because it takes a confident person to accept other people’s opinions.

d) Forgetting To Live In The Moment
If you ask a troubled couple what’s missing from their relationship, they will say quality time. Most people sacrifice ‘couple time’ when they should be doing the exact opposite. You must slow down yourself and don’t analyze too often. We all make mistakes in our life. So a trick to a love filled life is putting time into overcoming them.

e) Living In Each Other’s Pockets 24 hours a day and 7 days a week
Spending every minute with someone is like indulging in rich food-there’s only so much you can have. After a while, your appetite changes and you want to something different. People need space to take time out and recharge their batteries away from other people’s demands. If flattering when someone want to be with you 24 hours a day 7 days a week, out giving you so much attention to anything isn’t healthy. People often mistake intensity with intimacy. Intensity is when you have great sex and get along really well. Meanwhile, intimacy is what good couples have-history, ups and downs and loyalty. But it takes years to develop.

“One At The Time”

By: Jack Canfield and Mark V. Hansen

Here is the summary of the story…

A friend of ours was walking down a deserted Mexican beach at sunset. As he walked along , he began to see another man in the distance. As he grew nearer, he noticed that the local native kept leaning down, picking something up nad throwing it out into the water. Time and again he kept hurling things out into the ocean. As ours friend approached even closer, he noticed that the man was picking up starfish that had been washed up in the beach and, one at the time, he was throwing them back into the water. Ours friend was puzzled. He approached the man and said: “good evening friend, I am wondering what you are doing.” “ I am throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see it’s low tide right now and all of these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If I don’t throw them into the sea, they’ll die up here from lack of oxygen.” “ I understand,” my friend replied, but there must be thousands of starfish on this beach. You cannot possibly get to all of them. There are simply too many. And don’t you realize this is probably happening on hundreds of beaches all up and down this coast. Can’t you see that you can’t possible make a difference?” The local native smiled, bent down and picked up yet another starfish, and as he threw back into the sea, he replied, “Make a different to that one !”

“TRUE LOVE”

Let listen to the story… It’s the true story…

Moses Mendelssohn, the grandfather of the well-know German composer, was far from being handsome. Along with a rather short stature, he had a grotesque hunchback.

One day he visited the a merchant in Hamburg who had a lovely daughter name Frumtje . Moses fell hopelessly in love with her. But Frumtje was repulsed by his misshapen appearance. When it come time for him to leave, Moses gathered his courage and the stairs to her room to take the one last opportunity to speak with her. She was a vision of heavenly beauty, but caused him deep sadness by her refusal to look at him. After several attempts at conversation, Moses shyly asked, “Do you believe marriage are made in heaven?” “Yes, she answered, but still looking at the floor. “And do you?” “Yes I do ,” he replied and continue: “You see, in the heaven at the birth of each boy, the Lord announces which girl he will marry. When I was born, my future bride was pointed out to me. Then the Lord added, “But your wife will be humpbacked.” “right then and then called out, “Oh Lord, a humpbacked woman would be a tragedy. Please, Lord, give me the hump and let her beautiful.”

Then Frumtje looked up into his eyes and was stirred by some deep memory. She reached out and gave Mendelssohn her hand and later became his devoted wife.

Hi..hi..is me again...today i would like to share a articleabout health care.
Health care is the prevention, treatment, and management of illness and the preservation of mental health through the services offered by the medical, nursing, and allied health professions. Health care embraces all the goods and services designed to promote health, including “preventive, curative and palliative interventions, whether directed to individuals or to populations”.The organised provision of such services may constitute a health care system. This can include specific governmental organizations such as, in the UK, the National Health Service or a cooperation across the National Health Service and Social Services as in Shared Care. Before the term "health care" became popular, English-speakers referred to medicine or to the health sector and spoke of the treatment and prevention of illness and disease.

RISKING….

Two seeds lay side by side in the fertile spring soil.

The first seed said, “I want to grow! I want to send my roots deep into the soil beneath me, and thrust my sprouts through the earth’s crust above me… I want to unfurl my tender buds like banners to announce the arrival of spring… I want to feel the warmth of the sun on my face and the blessing of the morning dew on my petals!”

And so she grew.

The second seed said, “I am afraid. If I send my roots into the ground below, I do not know what I will encounter in the dark. If I push my way through the hard soil above me may damage my delicate sprouts… What if I let my buds open and snail tries to eat them? And if I were to open my blossoms, a small child may pull me from the ground. No, it is much better for me to wait until it is safe.”

And so she waited.

A yard hen scratching around in the early spring ground for food found the waiting seed and promptly ate it.

MORAL OF THE STORY IS…..

Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life.

an increasing number of children are allergic to some kind of nut, with potentially fatal consequences.about 20 per cent seem to 'grow out of' their allergy in time, though there is a chance the allergy may come back. Now scientists have found this chance can be lowered by eating peanuts.studying 68 kids who had outgrown a peanut allergy, researches at Johns Hopkins Children's Centre found none of those who regularly ate peanut products redeveloped an allergy, whereas those who did have a recurrence had seldom eaten peanuts. This suggests children who've outgrown an allergy should eat peanuts at least once a month, but consult your doctor first..that's all....

Me again...Today my artical is types of harm about road traffic safety.

Fatality
Conceptually, the clearest type of harm in a road traffic crash is death – or a fatality. However, the definition of a road-traffic fatality is far more complicated than a casual thought might indicate, and involves many essentially arbitrary criteria. In the United States, for example, the definition used in the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS)run by the NHTSA is a person who dies within 30 days of a crash on a US public road involving a vehicle with an engine, the death being the result of the crash. In America therefore, if a driver has a non-fatal heart attack that leads to a road-traffic crash that causes death, that is a road-traffic fatality. However, if the heart attack causes death prior to the crash, then that is not a road-traffic fatality.
To make matters more complex the definition of Road Accident Fatality can differ in the same country during different years. For example, fatality is defined in France as a person who dies in the 6 days (pre 2005) after the accident; in the 30 days (post 2005)after the accident.

Injuries
It is highly uncertain exactly how many road traffic crash injuries occur in the world. Whether an injury is reported may depend upon compensation and medical procedures as well as on the amount of harm.

Property Damage
Data for property damage crashes is even more uncertain than for injuries. In some jurisdictions the criterion for reporting is damage exceeding some monetary amount specified by statute. Because of inflation, this requirement may include more and more minor crashes as time passes, until the amount is abruptly changed, thereby reducing the reported number of crashes. Drivers generally report single-vehicle property damage crashes only if they see some benefit in reporting them, regardless of legal obligations.

Storm wreaks havoc in Penang

Reports by BERNARD SEE, SIRA HABIBU, CHRISTINA CHIN and YENG AI-CHUN Photos by K.T. GOH, MUSTAFA AHMAD and ASRI ABDUL GHANI

GEORGE TOWN: Stormy weather wreaked havoc in various parts of Penang, causing a landslide in Paya Terubong and rough seas along Pantai Bersih in Butterworth.

At Tingkat Paya Terubong 2, tonnes of earth came crashing down a hill onto the grounds of the Taman Terubong Jaya apartments where over 1,000 residents were staying.

The landslide, which occurred during heavy rain at about 2.45am yesterday, caused the retaining wall to collapse and turned the apartment car park into a muddy waterway.

At least two cars were buried under the earth while gushing water from the hill shifted at least four other cars from their parked position.

Engineer Teh Han Cheow, 34, could only watch in despair as firemen tried to salvage his two-year-old Honda City which was completely buried under earth.

4)monitor the movement of your cargo by knowing the name of the shipping line, voyage number, and estimated time of delivery

10 ways to relax:

Everyone has his or her own ideas and ways to get the relaxation. Have you ever tried the best ways to relax yourself which need not via the following methods: need not to irritate someone; need no yoga classes and drinks or diversion or anything. Here, there are several effective ways to relax you as well as possible or even can reduce your stress or sadness too. Don’t you believe? Then, take a look the ways, and try them, I think you may know by following.
Smile. Sit over one seat or certain corner then laugh or smile just like a fool, but a relax fool. We smile when we are happy, but we can cheat our psyches by smiling first becoming lighter next. So smile. Widely.
Drink some water. I think it works for me for you too. May be water can refresh ourselves or it used to digestion or something, who cares? The important thing is that it works!
Breathe deep. Breathing in, you can imagine the good things are around you. Breathing out, you can think that the stress or sadness leave you from yours.
Beauty treatment 1. You can take a trip to salon to set up your hair or even style your hair. If you can afford your time and money, a massage or steam bath or even both.
Beauty treatment 2. Look a beautiful thing. Sceneries, children or even cute animals, they work! Or you can change your desktop image into a beautiful picture
Sharpen your pencil. This is one of the rhythmic activities which relax you fast.
Water treatment. Take a bath, never fails for me. Or if you can swim, just try it.
Meditate. Sit still, breathe rhythmic, think beautiful thoughts.
Laugh. Laugh out loud, and the world then will think that you are crazy, let them. Perhaps, this is also one of the ways to relax them too.
Play. I do not mean that to play the computer games or irrelevant activities. My meaning is that you can play with children or even your pets to let you forget all the irritate things and unhappy events.
Do they work on me? My answer is just one: “Yes, exactly they work!” More information, you can refer to http://hubpages.com/hub/10-ways-to-relax

Diamond found in Lesotho among largest ever
http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080921/wl_africa_afp/britainlesothominingdiamond_080921145205

Diamond is the hardest object in the world! It's the King of all Gem stone and is most Wanted! For your information, the world largest polished diamond is named Cullinan I or the Great Star of Africa, and at 530.2 carats (106.04 g). It was the largest polished diamond in the world until the 1985 discovery of the Golden Jubilee Diamond, 545.67 carats (109.13 g), also from the Premier Mine. The second largest gem from the Cullinan stone, Cullinan II or the Lesser Star of Africa, at 317.4 carats (63.48 g), is the fourth largest polished diamond in the world and is part of the British crown jewels, as it forms a part of the Imperial State Crown. Building trust
How to help your child overcome her fear of washing hair.
Many children around the age of 4 or 5 have problems with water and soap getting into their eyes. They worry even at the anticipation of having their hair washed. Sometimes no amount of coaxing can convince them.
Your child needs to feel that she or he is actually in control by washing her or his hair. Don't force your child to wash her or his hair when they still could not adapt the water or soap or even in unwilling situation.
As a perfect and excellent parent, you require to provide several essential views and suggestions to your child, but the final decision lies on him or her. If you do forcingly, it just make your child afraid more and lead the situation more worse. If it do not work, you can try to listen to your child opinion, perhaps, she or he has her or his own way for washing hair. The more time you spend listening attentively to your child, the better she will feel.
You may want to give her a mirror to look at how her hair is being washed while you are doing it. Children feel less fear when they can see what is going on.
To settle her fears, you need to help her work on possible solutions. Avoid telling her what is best for her; rather, let her try to work it out using different approaches. While it may take time for her to let go of her fears, your support and trust can make a big difference. Referred from www.thestaronline,parenting.com

Cows seem to know which way is north
WASHINGTON - Talk about animal magnetism, cows seem to have a built-in compass. No bull: Somehow, cattle seem to know how to find north and south, say researchers who studied satellite photos of thousands of cows around the world.

Most cattle that were grazing or resting tended to align their bodies in a north-south direction, a team of German and Czech researchers reports in Tuesday's issue of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
"The magnetic field of the Earth has to be considered as a factor," the scientists said.
This challenges scientists to find out why and how these animals align to the magnetic field, Begall said in an interview via e-mail.
"Of course, the question arises whether humans show also such a spontaneous behavior," she said, adding, what "consequences does it have for their health."
For my comment: If they have evidence suggesting that mammals are using magnetic fields to orient their movements, this is very cool!!

The good ways to fill up your leisure time.

I have already read through this website and it mentioned about how we are going to use our leisure time. I took a few minutes to think this question, and actually I also don’t know the right ways to fill up my leisure time. So, this website is quite good to let me use the leisure time especially the holiday in coming soon in right motives. There are 3 great ways to use the leisure time effectively and meaningfully:
1. The proper use of our leisure time at home begins with proper priorities.
2. The proper use of leisure time requires a balance between family and self.
3. The proper use of leisure time in the home demands a balance between work (or study) or play.
The right balance is found in the family that works together and plays together, spends time with each other, and is committed to the work of God. If you have a hard time doing this, then schedule a time each week just for the family. Too little, or too much - that is just the way life is. You have to work on it to get it just right. And so it is with our use of leisure time. From http://www.discoveret.org/lcoc/news/01no637.htm

Arctic melting shows global warming serious - expert

Alarm!!! It is undeniable that many of the materialistic human being nowadays are not alert of the changes of the planet they are standing on! The issue of global warming is getting more serious every year...Sad to say that there is no doubt the global warming was caused in part by human activity(factories, vehicles, logging and lots more).. Now, researches in Artic show that the five ice shelves along Ellesmere Island in the Far North, which are more than 4,000 years old, had shrunk by 23 percent this summer alone, just a short while.. It proves that global warming is really serious now and need the attention of all mankind...Besides, global warming can generate more damaging weather extremes such as hurricanes, cyclones and floods. Thus, we, mankind, must work together to reduce pollutions for the sake of our next generation and the future of our beloved planet Earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take good care of our Mother Nature!!!!!!!!!!

I Hate Public Speaking

‘Hate Of Public Speaking”, it can be considered as an ‘extreme serious problem’ for all students. It is just seem like virus reproducing in human being’s body. Terribly, it may lead to huge destruction of somebody’s whole life. Furthermore, this ‘virus’ can spread easily from one to other human being just required a short period. So, why don’t we think positively, speaking or presentation can provide a perfect opportunity to demonstrate ourselves well in front of the audiences or public?
Obliterate or eradicate all about ‘Hate Of Public Speaking’. Open your mind now, accept the speaking and presentation. Perhaps, this may lead us having a perfect revolution or changing.

How to take care your hair?

We have about 100,000 hairs on our head. Each hair shaft has three layers, with cuticle, or outside layer, protecting the two inner layers. Do you know this? I may not only try to talk about this thing, but my main aim is to make you all realizing that the best way to protect and take care your hair.
By this reading, I think it can give you and me a big deal to cope the hair falling and make your hair to be shiny always. Actually, how to take care to your hair depends on the type of the hair you have, your lifestyle and how you style your hair.

Don’t think that your lifestyle may not influence your hair. Are you preferred for sporting or doing outdoor activities? Then, you are supposed to be more concern to your hair’s health. Climate action still a priority

Climate Change Minister Penny Wong, in Poland for talks ahead of a key UN climate change conference in Copenhagen, says the crisis will be factored into the design of a future emissions trading scheme.
The Government was also very aware of the desire of many business leaders for certainty and clarity, she said.
Ministers attending the Poland meeting have discussed the financial crisis.
"The current financial crisis does not lessen the need for the nations of the world to deal with climate change," Senator Wong told ABC Radio today.
She was responding to comments from Woodside chief executive Don Voelte who said a carbon trading scheme could not start in 2010, as flagged in the Government's green paper.
"Heck, I think it's off the table right now," he told ABC Radio.
"You can't put something like that in at this time until we get this whole fiscal chaos that is going on in the world straightened out."
That would probably take a couple of years, he said.
"No government can risk jobs in the economy until we get stabilization within the world marketplace.
"This is not going to be a short-term issue, it is not going to be two or three months to get this all straightened out."
But the Australian Industry Group says the scheme should start in 2010.
"The economic pressure certainly intensifies pressure on the economy as a whole if we move too quickly on this issue," chief executive Heather Ridout said.
In my opinion, at the same time if we start sensibly, if we start cautiously, maybe we can learn how to operate in this new environment and the risks will be reduced. From: http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,24493674-5009760,00.html

Eat less meat to fight climate change: UN expert
http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080907/sc_afp/unfoodclimatewarmingindia;_ylt=AvMAWC4u5Pb6iYOvoGrwnMYPLBIF
You may be asking how can meat associated to the climate change? This is also my 1st question in my mind when i notice the title. Actually in the article, an UN expert encourages us to eat less meat as a way to help overcome the global warming crisis nowadays. This is because when we eat less meat, rearing animals such as cattles can be reduced in every country and can directly declined the amounts of greenhouse gas released to the atmosphere. I also think that it is more or less helpful. It's not enough to focus in reducing gas from exhaust or filtered smokes from the factories only in the combat against this climate change issue, we really have to bring about reductions in every sector involved.

Does Anyone Care?

If I was to die tonight
Would anybody care?
If I used a gun
Would anyone hear?

If I was to die tonight
what would I lose?
Would anybody care
If I used a noose?

If I was to die tonight
Would it be, because I took my life?
Would anybody care
If I used a knife?

Jordan Everly

This is really a touched poem and imprinted deeply in my mind. And even the title, I also feel that it has included a deep and wide meaning inside of it. I try my best to understand this poem as well, fortunately it is quite simple words in using and I can get the whole meaning of this poem finally. The poet, Jordan Everly attempted to express his internal feeling which it was embedded in his mind and heart a long time ago. Unfortunately, there was no one could understand him well or even some could, however, they were reluctant to hear him of expressing his internal heart feeling. When I read though the whole poem, I really feel upset and the sadness has been floating in my mind. I can feel him, he was very successful to express out his thoughts and feelings to me via this simple poem. Don’t know why, I really hope that I can exist at that precious moment to share his difficulties, his sadness or even everything! Now, I can realize vividly, we can see the sentence of “ if I was to die tonight ” obviously, it means that he had ever thought to commit suicide, since he knew, his existence in this world was meaningless and even nobody would concern what he had ever done. He felt that he just a remainder in the world around him. Via this meaningful poem, I hope that most of us can live in a life which is full of people concerning and won’t feel that he or she is living alone in this world. Reference from:

Are 'Energy' Drinks Threatening Our Kids?

Researchers are calling for warning labels and other steps to curb the abuse of those wildly popular high-caffeine "energy drinks."
The researchers are worried about all sorts of problems. Too much caffeine can lead to "caffeine intoxication," which can cause nervousness, anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, stomach problems and even rapid heartbeats and death in rare cases. The scope of the problem is unclear. But at least 41 such cases related to energy drinks were reported to poison control centers between 2002 and 2004 alone, the researchers noted. And that's probably just the tip of the iceberg.
In my opinion, Absolutely caffeinated drinks should be required to list their caffeine content. Packaged food lists the amount of calories and other nutritional information. Since caffeine is a stimulant and can have drug interactions with various medications, that information should certainly be provided. That there is such a large youth market for energy drinks underscores the need for labeling. How Titanic Sank...
I went through an article about Titanic from http://www.titanic.com. I caught sight with the part of the article stated 'Why She Unable To Survive'. i believed that almost everyone knew that She sank because of colliding with a huge iceberg.. but do u know the MAIN REASON WHY SHE COULDN'T GET A CHANCE TO SURVIVE at that time? It is because the collision with the iceberg had affected 5 tight compartments. As each compartment filled, the bow sank deeper and water flowed over the top of the bulk heads. Hence, with 5 compartments flooded, She sank!!! I felt so pity for it... i wonder what would She be if She didn't sank tat day... for your information i love knowing histories but i don't like study History...hahaha

Health implication of using air conditioner daily

A poorly maintained air-conditioning system can occasionally promote the growth and spread of microorganisms, such as Legionella pneumophila, the infectious agent responsible for Legionnaires' disease, or thermophilic actinomycetes,[10] but as long as the air conditioner is kept clean these health hazards can be avoided. Conversely, air conditioning, including filtration, humidification, cooling, disinfection, etc., can be used to provide a clean, safe, hypoallergenic atmosphere in hospital operating rooms and other environments where an appropriate atmosphere is critical to patient safety and well-being. Air conditioning can have a positive effect on sufferers of allergies and asthma.[11]
In serious heat waves, air conditioning can save the lives of the elderly. Some local authorities even set up public cooling centers for the benefit of those without air conditioning at home.
Poorly operating air conditioning systems can generate sound levels that contribute to hearing loss, if exposures are endured over a long term. These levels are similar to the exposure of living near a busy highway or airport for a considerable length of time. Properly functioning air conditioners are much quieter.
In my opinion, if we use the air conditioner is necessary, then we are supposed to use it in smarter way for one example which it can maintain the conditioning level. This is not only saves the conditioner life, and also keeps you from spread of hazardous microorganisms. The people who are suffered from asthma and allergies, you are advised to use or under the air conditioning less as well. Of course, the air conditioners also provide numerical benefits to humans especially in hot season but these implications we can not just ignore, we are required to take some actions to avoid the unwanted events happen. How To Become More Intelligent:

· Listen to others patiently and hear and learn from what they are saying. Some people are wise, other's just hurt and need to talk, while others may try to persuade you into doing things you shouldn’t! Read, research the Internet on different subjects. If we keep our ears and eyes open to the world and truly listen we learn much.
· Pay attention to subjects.
· Here are some Related Links for some websites that will help you improve your memory and thinking skills. The best way to become smarter is simply to exercise your brain! You can improve your brain the same way you improve your muscles when you exercise them. Read as much as you can and talk about what you have read with others. Look up information about anything that seems interesting. The more you learn, the more your brain will be able to learn. Try puzzles and brainteasers to improve your problem-solving abilities. You can also browse the Learning Tips section to learn how to take better notes in class, how to listen better, and how to study for tests.
I prefer of it. I often use this to train my brain especially doing my mathematics. I also prefer to play puzzles because I really hope I can improve my problem-solving skills and abilities. If you don’t believe on it, just try it by yourself, then you may know it vividly by yourself in final. From: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_become_smarter

How to get rid of stress?

I had read an article from The Star online which is about “stress”. Do you realize that “stress” is around us and it is a normal condition which will occur from time to time? What is stress actually? Stress is something which many of us face in our lives, sometimes even on a daily basis. The stress that is felt can be the result of work-related issues or ones which fall closer to home. There are many different definitions of stress. The definition of stress depends strongly on the type of entity that is defining it. Regular dictionaries define stress as a condition caused by outside factors in the environment which can cause physical or mental results. Medical dictionaries usually define stress due to the medical conditions which can result from stress.
Stress can be considered a normal for individuals to face or experience. Everyone is supposed to have a suitable way or method to experience or reduce his or her problems and stress. It is usually only when stress becomes unbearable, chronic or severe when the individual needs to have their stress evaluated.
So, here I would like to share with u all of several effective ways to help u overcoming the terrible stress. One way to reduce stress is to eliminate the stress-causing event or object. Other ways to eliminate or alleviate stress are to exercise, meditation, aromatherapy and eat a proper diet. It is important that the individual experiencing the stress acknowledges such a condition and then starts on the right track to getting rid of stress-causing factors in their life or working to alleviate the stress through other means.
Lastly, I need to comment that you just try your own way to reduce the stress for all you won’t get hurt of yourself or influence others. If you think that “laughing” is an appropriate method, then you just laugh as much as you prefer. Instead, if you consider that “crying” can reduce or minimize your stress, or you just can take this action at a certain safe place to release your feelings.

Kids Say Specs Make Kids Look Smart
When I was shopping for new eyeglass frames recently, my 14-year-old daughter wanted a pair, too. Not that she needs glasses; her vision's perfect. But she thought the glasses looked really cool.
How far we've come since I was 14, when glasses conferred instant nerd status on their wearers. (Of course, frames then weren't as fashionable as the ones my daughter and I were looking at. But, still.) By Jennifer Huget
In my opinion, it’s not just kids who think glasses equals smarts. Even it is for me too to emerge of this type of thinking. However, if you are a rational adult, then you can be understood that poor vision actually is regardless of the intelligence of someone. In addition, if we say wearing spec is for fashionable of ourselves and make us look like more tidy, beautiful or handsome, then I recognize of these cases. But for making someone to look like more smart and clever, this is a question which full of question marks in my mind. The benefits of listening music

Music with a prominent beat stimulates an increased arousal in students which overrides the effect of environmental distracters…repetitive beat produces a reduction in muscle tension, thus reducing hyperactivity… (there was) significant reduction in distractibility among students after being exposed to music. Short term memory was also beneficially affected by having to listen to music.
Music plays with your state of mind as the electrical energy generated by firing neurons creates brain waves. The music a person chooses to listen to can influence the waves’ frequency, and their state of mind. It’s not only the mind that is influenced by music, the body also responds. Musical messages travel down the spinal cord, impacting the autonomous nervous system that regulates the heart rate, blood pressure, muscular activity, metabolism, and other vital functions…
Energizing music can make your brain exercise longer and harder. It increases speed and workload capacity … music with a strong steady beat can increase endurance, boost effort level, increase motivation and distract from discomfort and agitation.
From my view, listening to music even in class actually can be considered a good teaching method and provides the students to study in a comfortable and relax condition and environment. It can stimulate the students mind to think more creative as well as improve their study’s skills and concentration too. So that why music can be called the new teaching tool for the 21st century. Why do we yawn?

Every morning when I am going to my morning class, I shall yawn at least once in 1 or 2 hours. This event is happening not only on my side, but also to many other students. Then I feel strange and surprised, why all this happen for me and others? So, I tried to find this article to search exact and correct answers from net. Fortunately, I could obtain it flow, and I would like to share with you all too.
Yawns are involuntary reactions to increase carbon dioxide levels in the blood. When folks are weary, bored, or being sedentary (or a mix of all three — such as during an 8:00 A.M. chemistry class in the giant lecture hall), their breathing slows. This leads to decreased oxygen and increased carbon dioxide levels in the blood. By opening the mouth wide and inhaling deeply, yawns draw in a large amount of oxygen while expelling the accumulated carbon dioxide from the blood stream, bringing the body back to its normal state. So who wins the bet? It's a tie: yawns happen when the body needs more oxygen, and being tired is one of the things that make this happen.
So now, I quite clear why I often have this reaction during morning class. Perhaps, I am very tied or I really require more oxygen for my body’s cells to do the metabolism. www.goaskalice.columbia.edu/1860.html

Why we suppose to study Mathematics in each level?

Actually, I require asking a question for a long time ago, but no one can answer me as well. Why we suppose to study Mathematics as well? And what usage of it actually? When you see this question, actually your mind has already come out some main ideas, right? For your information, studying Mathematics is very useful to you or even to me. I would like to share with you all about the benefits of studying the Mathematics subject.
To understand creation
To train our mind effectively
To understand and realize to the Mathematicians’ history and we can know that how to create or distribute a formula or principle which we are learning until now.
To appreciate the beauty ( the usage of the formulae and principles)
To enjoy the mental challenge
That is the main reason why I prefer the Mathematics subject most and I will continue my Mathematics study even when I after graduated. I hope all of you may also have this heart to learn Mathematics, and then you will feel that, learning the Mathematics actually is not so difficult that what has been set in your mind! GET BACK ON TRACK

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi saw it all for himself – how commuters jostle to get into the KTM Commuter and LRT coaches and the delays they have been putting up with during the morning rush hour.
Like most commuters, Abdullah spent time waiting for the train to arrive when he took rides from Serdang on a KTM Commuter and later switched to the LRT to get to Masjid Jamek.
He also spoke to scores of passengers, and they had no qualms telling him the problems they face in using the train services.
“They appear to be no system, I’m not happy with this the people are not getting satisfaction from riding the trains. This we must fix,” said Abdullah, who wants the rail transport system to get back on track.
I really hope that PM may also understand our country KTM commuter and LRT systems then take an appropriate action to solve all these problems and troubles which are facing by the people all over our country. From “The Star”

Good nutrition is good health

The average of eating the fast food is increasing promptly and this has an enough evidence to show it. The average American eats three hamburgers and four orders of fries every week, a statistic that must make nutritionists cry. Good nutrition is such an important part of good health, yet it is the first thing we sacrifice when we get busy. It's much faster and easier to grab a fast-food burrito than to cook a well-balanced meal, but our health is suffering because of it. 17 percent of American children are considered obese, and they run high risks of suffering from type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and heart problems in the future. We're young now, but these risks are only going to get more serious as we get older. We need to start taking care of our bodies now so we can live longer. If we each start making small, gradual changes in our diet and encouraging our friends and family to do the same, we can start to take control of our health. Eating healthfully promotes a strong immune system and helps keep the body fit and resilient. Good nutrition also prevents health problems, such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and depression. Lastly, in my comment, try to think before you eat, consider the food that you have chosen is that sufficiency of nutrition or either it may destruct your health. Preventing cancer

“Cancer”, I feel the huge horror and terribly even just heard this word. It is a very serious sickness or even there is still no any medicine or therapy is afforded to treat it. It can just lead someone fatal in a short period because it can spread in the human’s body very fast and even nothing can stop its spreading. Due to prevent prevents the cancer spreading in the human’s body.
Firstly, you are required to pay closed attention for food and nutrition; all this is not only for our health, but also a good way to prevent the terrible cancer. What is supposed to recommend is that consumes energy-dense food and fast-food sparingly, avoid sugary drinks if at all. Avoid salt-preserved, salted, or salty foods; if you really require, then you can preserve food without salt. Next, limit intake of red meat and avoid processed meat. Take the plants or vegetables as more as possible and you are also encouraged to take the vegetables which plants by yourself (original).
Besides, physical activities are also very essential for everyone and it is effective to prevent cancer occur! Be moderately physically active, equivalent to brisk walking, for at least 30 minutes everyday.
Don’t think that all this information is less useful because prevention is better than treatment. Due to our health, we have to concern our lifestyle and pay attention most on our food! Reading aloud with your child

In the rush of everyday life, it can be easy to miss out on reading together — but even a short amount of reading time each day is really valuable for children. Reading aloud to your child is the easiest way to boost his literacy skills and help him do well at school. It improves his vocabulary and attention span, feeds his imagination, helps him to wind down before bed and also creates a cozy time when he can chat to you. There are some reading’s tips from Jacqueline Wilson, try to take a look, I think this may give you and your children a big help too!
1. Reading aloud to your child is great for bonding. At bedtime, it also helps calm boisterous behavior.
2. It’s a good way of finding out what’s going on in your child’s head, too. If something is bothering him, choose a story that creates an opportunity for him to talk to you about his feelings.
3. Start reading aloud to your child from about six months with simple board books.
4. Don’t be put off if you’re not a confident reader. You can even make up your own story to go with pictures in a book.
5. You don’t have to put in a star performance! It’s fine to read in your ordinary voice if you don’t like doing different voices for the characters.

Having enough sleep in a day will make you to start in the right mood and full of energy is our mind’s means to refresh and rejuvenate. I would like to take this opportunity to share with you all about the benefits of sleeping.
• One benefit of Sleeping is that it strengthens and improves our memory, brain functions and protects memory from outside interference.
• During sleep, the brain actively processes information learned during the day.
• Basically when we sleep, it is the time when our brain will function in a minimum level letting it regain its energy and full capacity.
• Sleep may also have other benefits like improving physical and immune function, physical and cognitive performance and regulating mood.
• The healing process whether from wounds, or illness, will boost during our sleeping hours.
So, in my opinion, we suppose to have a nice sleep at least 6-7 hours for a day due to rejuvenate our mind and body. Don’t be too late to sleep, until we have no enough energy
to study or do others activities and it may make our mood of study gone. Be smart, be genius, to sleep early. From www.thestaronine.com
